French Mid-19th Century Empire Style Ormolu Portico Clock

An exquisite French mid-19th century Empire style ormolu portico clock. The clock raised on a rectangular base with finely chased borders and satin and burnish finish interlocking circles. Above are four ormolu columns with berried laurel plinths and intricately chased capitals. The impressive top crown with a finely chased Rai de Coeur designed border, above rosette blocks. Centered is the very impressive ormolu dial and pendulum adorned with finely chased rosettes. All original gilt.
