About the Item

French Style Mystery Great wheel Water Tower Gravity Rolling Ball Industrial Clock For your consideration is the mystery Water Tower Industrial Ball Bearing Clock. This water tower industrial clock has a big paddle wheel on the right side which hold a a set of small steel ball bearings. The weight of these balls is propelling the clock. The time reads from a large porcelain dial with black Roman numerals. Every minute, a small ball drops down from the water wheel onto the track where the steel ball rolls to the left side. The water tower with a large spiral pillar picks up and moves the ball bearings up one by one. Every 60 seconds, a steel ball drops from the left tower on the channel to the waterwheel. The cycle goes on as the clock keeps on running. The clock has a pendulum on the back to regulate the timing. The whole animation of this clock is just like a waterwheel except it's ball bearing "flowing" through channel and there is a clock on the big water wheel. The clock is protected by a glass dome with a front opening door for easy access. It measure 17-3/4" tall, 17-3/4" wide, and 8-3/4" deep including the glass dome. The original one is made in 1971 by Peter Bonnert. I'm sure this clock will upscale any clock store and/or make your collection more interesting.
