Marguerites Frosted Glass Clock By René Lalique

About the Item

This stunning frosted glass clock by René Lalique was made circa 1920 and features the Marguerites pattern, which translates to daisy, symbolizing innocence and purity. A bouquet bursts from the center of the refined gilt clock face, with each flower appearing more delicate and delightful than the last. Lalique remains one of the most popular designers and sculptors of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. He mastered the press-molded techniques, and glass aficionados and amateur collectors alike continue to marvel at the grace, magnificence and lifelike veracity of his creations. Pictured in Lalique's catalogs of 1928 and 1932 and discontinued in 1947, the Marguerites pattern remains coveted by collectors. Marked "R.
