Important Gilt Bronze Wall Clock, Maison Prosper Roussel – Mid 19th Century

About the Item

Finely chiseled gilt bronze wall clock from the Parisian watchmaker Prosper Roussel. It is topped with a closed vase and four pine cones. It is also adorned with acanthus leaf carvings and a rich drapery. The white enameled dial indicates the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals with two finely openworked hands. This timepiece is finished with a palmette, scrollwork, and a goddess mask.
