Late 19th Century Louis XV Rococo Style Gilt Bronze Cartel Wall Clock

About the Item

A small and elegant antique cartel clock, mounted on a wooden base with fabric. The richly decorated clock is made of bronze with refined details. Ornated with Louis XV style Rococo scrolls. The dial is made of enameled copper with Arabic numbers. Made in France, circa 1880-1890. On the right side a small piece of fabric is missing, see picture The movement runs through a cylinder escapement (échappement), it needs no pendulum. The time can be finely adjusted by the lever in the back side, marked "SR-FA", The clockwork has been fully checked and serviced by a professional clockmaker and runs well. Including the winding key.

The clock is in good condition and workin order, it have the original gilding. The clockwork have a 8-day movement and strikes every half our on a bronze silver plated bell.
