Large Saint Louis Millefiori Paperweight, St. Louis Scrambled Paperweight

About the Item

A stunning paperweight dating back to the late 19th Century with roses and flowers that will spark your imagination every time you put your eyes on it. This art piece has faceted edges and controlled bubbles, created by Saint Louis Cristallerie. Hand blown and bursting with colors: blue, white, red, green and clear glass. Despite its age, this timeless vintage piece in very good condition with one minor imperfection on the bottom, see detailed photos. The height of paperweight production at the firm was 1846 to 1857. Glass production at Saint Louis was authorized by Louis XV in 1767. By 1782 the firm was creating high quality glass crystal, progressing into pressed glass in the 1800s. St. Louis produced paperweights from 1845 to about 1867. A nice addition to any desktop. Measures: 4 1/8" Diameter x 3" High Unmarked, manufactured before etched name on Saint Louis items was introduced. This St. Louis millefiori paperweight will enhance any setting.
