Ming Dynasty Porcelain Capping Stone
About the Item
Most likely intended to be used outside to tile along the top of a roof or wall of a courtyard. These porcelain bricks were hand decorated with the classic continuous willow design, a very popular design in Ming Dynasty China - the bricks would have been individually painted by different artists following the same design, hence one sees the slight artistic differences
A Thermo Luminescence report taken from a randomly selected brick confirms that the date of the last firing of the porcelain is consistent with our suggested period of manufacture.
Large collection available (up to 50 pieces), priced individually.
