From an old New England collection. Unique find. An attractive Art Deco 1930 period Hand crafted, hand incised wooden double dresser photographic frame, 1930 - ready for you to install your favorite photographs! An all original work of art depicting a matching pair (2) lions squaring off at the bottom. All finely hand incised and hand stained using a pyrographic technique. The resulting warm honey brown color of its finish enhances its desirability. The craftsmanship and details are superb. Dimensions: 9.5 inches high and 17 inches wide Handmade and hand burned using pyrographic techniques Provenance: New England collection. History of the Pyrography: py·rog·ra·phy, a noun, is the art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point. Pyrography was particular popular in America and Europe during the last quarter of the 19th century and first quarter of the 20th century.     Here's one of the most beautiful Chinese antiques we have ever found in our travels in China over the past three decades. This is a one-of-a-kind antique sandstone lintel which when installed and displayed could be a handsome addition to your decor. It dates to the 18th century of the Qing dynasty. It still retains remnants of its original poly chrome surfaces. The carving and detail is deep and very fine.
