About the Item

A fine antique early 20th century Austrian picture frame. Comprised of a silver plate mounted dark walnut wood frame and a damascened silk back and interior. Mounted with clips to the reverse to hold the back in along with integrated hooks for hanging on the wall vertically and horizontally. With taped glazing. All in all, simply a wonderful early frame! Date: Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: The silver plated mount appears to have a lacquer finish that prevents it from being polished, the silk to the reverse has some tearing and wear to the easel's stand, some light staining and discoloration throughout. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Marked to the reverse in gold on the silk "Made in Austria".
