Art Nouveau French Picture Frame with a Lady Portrait Photograph
About the Item
Beautiful French Art Nouveau copper picture frame with a floral design, and featuring two maidens leaning against a flaming torch.
Inside the frame is a lovely simple portrait photograph of a French lady. The frame has a wooden back and metal support support arm which works well. It appears that the wood back is fixed to the frame with small nails, and the photograph cannot be removed.
Measuring width 11.1cm / 4.37 inches by maximum height 18.6cm / 7.32 inches, and depth 1.25cm / .49 inch. The frame is in very good condition for its age, with some bending to the metal at the back to the top of the frame. The frame has some age related patina, and we have given it just a light clean as some customers like the old patina.
There is a gold wash to the back of the frame and support arm which has a lovely golden aged patina. It is stamped with a flower and GC within an oval.
This is a stylish and quality Art Nouveau French picture frame, all original, it would look wonderful in any room.
