Abstract aluminum Sculpture artwork by Lino Tiné

About the Item

Here is an uncommon artwork by a lesser known Italian artist named Lino Tiné. Crafted from three sheets of steel, each decorated with a different pattern, it has a nice materic appearance. The sheets of metal are scratched, hammered, drilled and so on to create abstract patterns and textures which resemble mechanical stampings and tyre prints. When observed in lain daylight, the richness of detail on this unusual "canvas" is granted to impress even the less attentive observer. The neat surface of steel has been altered by Tiné through the use of a vast range of different tools: drills, hammers, scalpels, saws have left marks that are clearly identifiable as man made and of mechanical origin, but altogether conjure a wider vision in which the artistic purpose is made clear and evident. Spending time in contemplation of this piece, running your fingers over the metallic surface and scanning every dent and every bevel with careful eye, the sculpture will never cease to amaze you; and you will never cease discovering new details and other possible interpretations of its meaning. The sculpture comes with four different pins, placed by the author to allow hanging it in four different directions, thus underlining the fact that the work is open to personal interpretation. It is signed at the lower right corner of the mid sheet "LINO TINE 72" indicating creation of the piece in 1972. The piece is preserved in good conditions despite the age. It has an even patina throughout and some scratches that don't affect its appearance. Discover more collectible design pieces at Spinzi Milano
