About the Item
'Big Line Rose' is a unique cast and hand-made glass sculpture by the Danish artist, Karin Mørch.
Mørch’s inspiration often derives from simple expressions and in the contrast between the linear and the tilted. She sees beauty in the natural realm of geometry, in architecture and in her own experiences with other people: the various ways of human expression such as music, dance and words. She is also hugely influenced by the characteristics of her chosen material, the unique properties that can only be found in glass, it’s transparency and ability to create optical abstractions, or as Mørch like’s to put it: “reflections of the world as she sees them”.
Her starting point is to create space whilst also giving form. This process is often repeated and through that action, variations occur with new developments, where additional ideas or even new shapes can arise. This process of continuous change is the key element that keeps, retains and even drives the artist’s curiosity.
Karin Mørch is represented in the Hempel Glasmuseum (Denmark) and Ebeltoft Glasmuseum (Denmark), The Design Museum Denmark, the Swedish Art Council and Kunstforeningen (Denmark). She has exhibited extensively throughout Europe.

No Limits #1, a Pink, Peach & White Glass Sculpture by Maria Bang Espersen
By Maria Bang Espersen
Located in London, GB
‘No Limits #1' is a unique glass sculpture by the Danish artist, Maria Bang Espersen.
Maria Bang Espersen works around the idea that all things are malleable, like glass, and that nothing can be permanently defined. Her experimental sculptures are therefore not only an approach but also a statement; one that states to never get caught up in the restrictive norms or to obey established hierarchies. Essentially, her works in glass, are a play with the possibilities of the material and an attempt to expand the viewer’s understanding of her chosen medium.
Although static and solid in their final sate, Espersen stretches, pulls and bends her glass, resulting in works that appear soft and almost possible of languid movement. Her chosen sweets confectionery colour palette entices and draws the onlooker towards the artwork, which deliciously glisten.
Espersen studied glass and ceramics at Engelsholm Højskole, in Denmark, continuing her studies at the Kosta School of Glass in Sweden, The Royal Danish Academy of Design, and Haystack Mountain...
