About the Item

Rocking toy in the form of a bull, a nod to our Iberian culture, where the bull and the horse are present in our imagination and form part of our tradition. A form that combines the dual personality of the animals, both strong and ancestral. A timeless, unique game or sculpture. This work is a reminder of childhood games. Made of solid wood, carefully handcrafted, it was one of our first pieces. We sought in it the power of works created with the intention of lasting beyond time. To pass from one generation to the next, bearing witness to the game and perhaps later to the simple object of design. Bass wood 100% assembled (without screws or nails) varnished with natural linseed oil. Dimensions: 84 x 74 x 31 cm. LAS ÁNIMAS are Trini Salamanca and Pablo Párraga, a creative duo founded and established in Seville, Spain. Their work has a strong symbolic, mystical, tribal and esoteric component, and moves on the frontiers between art and design. Using a language of minimalist, geometric and iterative patterns, they experiment with the materials, their forms and textures, to create an iconography of retrofuturist, transgressor, brutalist and deeply evocative aesthetics. The couple’s visual and emotional universe includes references as distant as science fiction, anthropology, the distortion of reality, cybernetics, duality, experimental electronic music, or architectural brutality; an imaginary that joins the elements of their social environment, recoding and projecting them from an atypical and personal insight.

Magazine Rack Sculpture Contemporary Organic Solid Wood Gold
By Las Animas
Located in Seville, ES
MAA, SCULPTURE MAGAZINE - HOLDER Hand made in red pine solid wood (from sustainably managed national forests). Carefully selected, hand cut, planed, carved and assembled in our workshop. Gold leaf hand finished using traditional methods. The acid and varnishes used to fix gold to the wooden structure act on this living material, giving it a unique patina. The result is an sculptural organic work of art, of monumental and brutalism semblance, apparent simplicity and decadent elegance. The processes involved in the creation of this piece are completely hand crafted. Each piece is numbered out of a 20 units limited edition. We developed this magazine holder to celebrate the first anniversary...

Timber Mazer 350 Sculpture by Tom Fereday
By Tom Fereday
Located in Geneve, CH
Timber Mazer 350 Sculpture by Tom Fereday Dimensions: W 35 x D 35 x H 55 cm Materials: Solid Oak & Walnut. Weight: 76 Kg. MAZER COLLECTION: Mazer represents a series of geometric sculptures, each a celebration of the fundamental beauty and natural variation of stone. Strict brutalist forms of the table and seating collection are juxtaposed by soft organic cutaways carving through the porous stone surfaces, revealing the natural beauty and character of travertine. Named after the medieval term ‘Mazer’ meaning bowl, the collection presents subtle organic forms proportioned for table and seating function designed for permanence. Porous formations of the stone’s structure act as an intentional disruption to the clean geometric forms of the series adding character and intrigue. The limited edition series was crafted from travertine and locally produced in Italy from a combination of machine and traditional hand made processes, each piece exhibiting its own unique characteristics and form with no one piece alike. Mazer is designed by Australian designer Tom Fereday exemplifying Fereday’s desire to honour materiality, combining form and function to produce enduring works. Tom Fereday develops products based on the principle of honest design, conveying a design process which celebrates the materials and manufacturing processes behind furniture and products, to design from the inside out. By using the materials and environment as a positive design constraint we guide intelligent and thoughtful design outcomes which connect with people through natural materials, tactile finishes and unique design. We strive to create enduring designs which are meaningful to people and their environment. Born in Australia, Tom Fereday grew up in England studying at the Wimbledon School of Art before moving to Sydney to complete an honours in Industrial Design at the University of Technology Sydney. Working across europe and Australia Tom Fereday went onto found his sole practice in 2012.
