About the Item
Brand new and hot out of the Kiln, this lovely straw-yellow Modern TOTEM is made of white stoneware with a light glaze application. The textures on the handbuilt forms show through the glaze. Each form or part is first made as a solid piece, then hollowed out. After it is reassembled, the parts are attached and the feet created. Each piece has a different top, and different hand-formed feet to give each TOTEM it's own individuality and personality. Totally handmade, no molds are used. This is the first in yellow, and may be the only one! Measures: With 4 feet.
Signed with Artist's chop underneath.

Helena Starcevic Ceramics
Helena Starcevic Ceramics produces work that straddles the line between fine and decorative art. Each piece is one of a kind, hand-built entirely by the artist in her New York studio. Taking inspiration from the natural world, Ms. Starcevic's work includes references to the stark beauty of the desert, prehistoric cave paintings, and the human form (within and without). Everything is filtered through Ms. Starcevic’s own singular aesthetic, at once quiet yet strong, meditative, and beautiful. Pieces are made in different clays and finishes, and at different scales. Groupings are available. Helena Starcevic’s ceramic pieces are held in private collections across the US and Europe. She has held numerous residencies including one at the Museum of Art and Design in New York City.
