Portal by Pepe Valenti

About the Item

Portal by Pepe Valenti Dimensions: D 110 x H 240 cm. Materials: Chrome-plated stainless steel, acrylic. A door to another dimension invites you on a journey to behold beauty, to wander off from our realities, to become present. Drawing inspiration from the captivating nature of water, this fountain has been hand-crafted to embody its essence in a unique form. Much like gazing into a body of water, this installation allows you to peer through its transparent façade while simultaneously capturing reflections that shift with every passing moment. At its core, this fountain embodies the interplay between solid and fluid elements, sparking an intriguing dialogue between the contrasting materials of water and metal. As an artist, my fascination lies in delving into the intricate relationship between humanity and nature, particularly with water. Its reflective properties and harmonious dance with its surroundings evoke a sense of wonder that never ceases to captivate. Through the creation of this portal, I aim to provide a pathway for viewers to engage with this fluid element, revealing its innate beauty and beckoning them to embark on a journey of exploration and discovery. Pepe Valenti is a young Spanish sculpture and installation artist based in Amsterdam, working in the fields of art and collectible design. His work pushes the boundaries between design and art, questioning when design becomes art and when art becomes design. He employs an intuitive, hands-on approach, exploring his fascination with materials through physical experimentation — thinking through making. His inspiration comes from raw, untouched matter surrounding us, while his work remains polished and refined, creating an interesting contrast between the source and the outcome.

Melodicware Trio, Musical Portal, Agustina Bottoni
By Agustina Bottoni
Located in Geneve, CH
Designed by Agustina Bottoni Handcrafted in Italy Materials: Solid brass with satin finish - rayon fringes Size: 150cm x 110cm Chain length: 150cm / 60 Melodicware explores the auditory experience of objects. These items contains brass chimes of different lengths that play musical notes. Swinging by breeze or touch, they release casual melodies inspired by Debussy. Melodicware not only embellishes a space as a jewel. Through interaction, it comes to life for a fleeting moment. The lush fringes of the delicate pieces invite to be touched by passers by, becoming thus an unexpected musical instrument. Agustina Bottoni Agustina Bottoni is an independent Argentinian designer based in Milan. She works for companies, private clients and self-productions of objects, textiles and furniture. Graduated at the University of Buenos Aires, and after years of working in the fashion industry, she transferred to Milan, graduating with honors of the MA in product design at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti. Following, she collaborated with design studios in Italy and the Netherlands before dedicating since 2015 to her independent design practice. Exploring the language of everyday objects, these projects tell stories through a gentle use of shape. Agustina’s multicultural experience influences the research of different materials and techniques. They also encourage an emotional perception, considering objects as companions in our lives. Her works have been exhibited at Triennale Design Museum in Milan, Salone del Mobile, Maison&Objet and others. Since 2016, she is a co-founder of design collective The Ladies’ Room. Selected exhibitions 2017: Operæ Design Fair, Lingotto, Turin 2017: Fenoména by The Ladies’ Room, 5Vie Milan, Italy 2017: Ambiente Fair with Il Coccio Design Edition, Frankfurt 2016: W. Scott Gordon, Portal, 2021
By Scott Gordon
Located in Sharon, VT
Portal welded steel Measures: 8.5 x 12.5 x 17.5 in. Artist statement: I seldom use stock material, but prefer distressed and rusted steel that has been scarred, bent, and made imperfect. In this state, the material becomes quite beautiful. There are figurative elements in my work, though I am more drawn to the non-figurative, to the raw and essential aspect of steel. The Industrial purpose of steel must be considered, its use in construction, manufacturing, the military. Steel is forged with enormous energy and power. The process is violent, loud. Here, it is still and approachable. The compositions are constructed mainly from found parts. Their relationships manifest as I interact with the material. The pieces interlock, balance, and become fitted before I fasten or weld them together. The engineering is elemental. Altering the material is avoided. The number of parts kept to a minimum. Art is my spiritual exercise, my selflessness. It identifies me as a creator and satisfies my human longing for place and purpose. It needs not to be great, or preeminent, or commercial. Art speaks because it is Primitive. It exists because it is sacred. Biography: Scott Gordon was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey in 1966. He attended the University of Denver where he studied business and the University of Washington where he pursued an MFA in creative writing. While he was in Seattle, he was introduced to steel as an employee of the David Gulassa...

Some creative ways to use this Omersa style leather rhino is as a floor or table / credenza sculpture or as a footstool or armrest next to your favorite lounge chair or reading armchair. Due to internal structural issues, not advised to use as a bench or other type of seating without first repairing the internal structure. As you can see in our photos, we have a large collection of Omersa leather animals...
