Beautifully stylized sculpture of a couple in a loving embrace.
This early 20th century work of art is part of the 'modernist school' that was at the start of making art more and more abstract. The quality of these artists lies in their ability to make sculptures that only have very few 'hard' details, but from which everyone can immediately can see what the sculpture depicts. In this unique and marked sculpture too, the flowing lines and organic shape make it crystal clear what we are looking at. Unfortunatey we don't know the name of the artist who's monogram is carved underneath the base, but this ahead-of-its-time sculpture of a male and female in a loving embrace also has a yin-yang quality about it which makes it desirable on yet another level.
