About the Item

PLEASE NOTE: This piece is currently located in our Amsterdam office, please enquire for delivery times. Stunning architectural art laminated glass sculpture 'Balance II' by world renowned Hungarian glass artist Zoltan Bohus. The tall, heavily made smoked glass sculpture has a polished central section within a frosted surround and graduates from a rounded base into a narrow top with internal prism like designs. The sculpture is signed BOHUS to the lower edge and date 1996. Provenance: Zoltan Bohus attended the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts, where he currently serves as head professor of the glass department. Using contemporary architecture as his initial inspiration, throughout the years Zoltan developed his geometrical work to such a level that architects are now themselves being inspired by his architectonic sculptures. His work is in the permanent collections of several museums, including the Corning Museum of Glass, the Hungarian National Gallery, Kunstmuseum Dusseldorf in Germany, the Musee Des Beaux-Arts in France, the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Switzerland and the Yokohama Museum in Japan. His work has been exhibited worldwide since 1972.
