Antique C. 1770 Derby Porcelain Squirrel Figure

About the Item

Rare Antique white squirrel with brown accents, clasping a nut between its paws and perched on a green base, 2.5 high by 1.5 inches wide, made by the Derby factory in the eighteenth century. This is the smaller of 2 different sizes of squirrels first made by the Derby Factory in the late 1700's. Their manufacture continued through the 19th century. All information obtained from the book English Porcelain Animals of the 19th Century by DG Rice.
