Exquisite 1/25 Limited Edition Alan Biggs Solid Bronze Owl Signed and Numbered

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning limited edition 1/25 Alan Biggs signed statue of an Owl. A very decorative and well made piece, the finished so smooth and tactile, I absolutely love it and don’t really want to let it go. It is in bronzed which has a wonderful patinated finish, signed A Biggs to the rear with the edition number 1/25 Condition wise we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, it is in gallery perfect order. Dimensions Height:- 27cm Width:- 7.5cm Depth:- 10.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. Alan Biggs From full length life-size public commissions to intimate portrait heads, Alan works from sittings, photographs and measurements. For public commissions and outdoor pieces a site visit is essential. Each mould is created from a clay model, and subsequently cast in bronze or resin bronze. Alan works with a foundry in Birmingham. Alan is a sympathetic portrait sculptor of children, and sculpts animals, both wild-life and domestic, which can be included in large-scale portraits and imaginative pieces. Having trained in Fine Art at Reading and the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris, Alan worked as a teacher before starting his career as a freelance sculptor in 1990. Alan has recently moved from Devon to Oxford, on the occasion of his marriage to Jenny – they have a combined family of seven children. Alan will be exhibiting at Oxford Art Weeks (South Oxford), 3 – 11 May 2014.
