Amazing workmanship and mint Black Forest boar wall sculpture. This perfect condition antique wooden sculpture of a wild hog on a wall plaque originates from the German Black Forest region and it was entirely hand-crafted in the mid to late 1800s. The sculptor must have been at the top of his game when he carved and hand-painted this boar, because to be able to create this much detail and so perfectly balanced takes a god given talent and a lifetime of experience. With both the expression and the balance perfectly correct, this work of art is simply devine. With there being no damage and no woodworm and no wear to the paint whatsover, this antique and museum worthy condition boar truly is a rare find. Other than the unpainted Black Forest sculptures this extra rare, wall trophy like specimen is entirly hand-painted, making it even more realistic. Over the many decades this work of art has grown a marvelous patina and for the paint to survive in such immaculate condition too is like an ode to the incredible workmanship of the artisan(s) whom created this 'antique with a soul' all those years ago.
