About the Item
A wonderful and whimsical polar bear carving by the noted Alaskan intuit carver Wilson Oozeva (1953-2013). The fossilized bone carving lileky dates to the late 1970’s perhaps early 1980’s. The artist is pictured in a photo with the carving looking very young. His work is featured in the book “Eskimo Carvers of the Bering Sea” by Dale Kessler published in 1994. The book will not be included with the piece but the photograph will be included.
The piece is in good overall condition with some minor losses, please see the detailed pics.
