Marvelous and signed, sitting puppy dog sculpture with glass eyes.
This stunning alabaster puppy sculpture is another one of our recent great finds. If you have an eye for top quality hand-crafted sculptures of animals in general and of dogs in particular then you will immediately realize that this sitting puppy sculpture can only be the work of a master craftsman. On one of the sides of the base is the signature of the sculptor "E. Beck", which refers to Austrian artisan Ernst Beck (1879-1941). It never ceases to amaze us when an artist is capable of perfectly capturing the soul of another living being in a sculpture. It seems a god given talent that is only very rarely discovered anymore. We feel this artisan left us (art lovers) a truly remarkable and endearing sculpture of museum quality and condition which will look great no matter where you decide to have it on display.
