Nervil 1925” on the side The bust is in good condition, exhibiting minor scratches and notches consistent with its age, including slight abrasions on the nose and a small white spot at the nape. Sofus J. Nervil was a distinguished Danish sculptor educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His oeuvre includes acclaimed statues that garnered prestigious awards and grants. Beyond sculpture, Nervil authored numerous works on yoga and occultism, reflecting a profound interest in Eastern mysticism and Asian religions that captivated Europe in the late 19th century.
