A well execututed, large scale bust in terracotta, previously polychromed/ painted in white. This bust has been used outdoors, minor signs of weathering, add to the beautiful patina.
This Grand Tour style bust after the orignal Roman antique, is a fine example of a portrait bust of the first Roman emperor, Caesar Augustus (63 BC – AD 14), also known as Octavian. Caesar Augustus- Octavian reigned from 27 BC until his death in AD 14.
this bust depicts Caesar Augustus- Octavian looking off tot he left side, wearing a medallion fastened draped robe. Raised on an 9- Inch square pedestal base.
