About the Item
Pair of ceramic busts of Roman Emperors resting on ceramic columns, production Tommaso Barbi 1970s. Columns with hexagonal base of white glazed ceramic ornamented with gold piping, shaft imitating a red breccia marble; busts depicting Emperors Hadrian and a young Octavian, both taken from a pair of busts preserved at the Uffizi in Florence. Terracotta faces and bases, white glazed ceramic clothing with mantle to echo the marble of the shaft. Columns marked "b ceramics for Tommaso Barb. made in Italy" below base.
