Venus De Milo Bronze Bust

About the Item

Late 19th Century Bronze Bust of Venus de Milo. Bust depicts the chest and head of the goddess. Bust is detailed and is a refined reproduction of the iconic Greek statue, Aphrodite of Milos, which is widely recognized as one of the most famous works of classical antiquity. Bust focuses on the upper portion of the body, showcasing the goddesses' serene facial features and upper torso, absent arms. Barbedienne (1810-1892) was a French metalworker well known as the bronze founder. Marked on verso "F. Barbedienne. Fondeur." and stamped thereon "Reduction Mecanique A. Collas Brevete".
