1900s Figurate Art Nouveau bronze sculpture by Louis Auguste Moreau (c. 1903). Commissioned for the Concours Régional d’Auch—and awarded to Julien Truau—the statue was valued at 500 francs, or €2000 today, and came with an additional 1000 francs in prize money. Moreau (1855-1919) was a prominent French sculptor known for his bronze-cast figurines and allegorical Art Nouveau works often depicting women, children, and historical figures.
