19th Century Hugo Frantiska Salm Bronze Knight Sculpture

Fabulous Hugo Frantisek Salm bronze sculpture of a knight dated 1844 Salm. The last photo shows the identical bronze on display in a museum in Prague, Czech Republic. The quality and workmanship is amazing. Here is information on Hugo Frantisek Salm. In the twenties of the nineteenth century, he built one of the most important iron-making centers in the Austrian monarchy in the vicinity of Blansko, following the English model, he built a suspended railway line near Hugo's smelter. He produced machines for the textile industry, steam engines, iron roof structures for industrial and agricultural buildings, but also for theater buildings. Hugo František, Old Count Salm as a pioneer of the industrial revolution. It also shows him as a patron, philanthropist and collector. At the castle in Rájc, he gathered one of the largest collections of Austrian romantic painting. He also had monumental sculptures and vases inspired by antiquity cast in his Blanen ironworks. On his estate, he introduced many new findings in the fields of metallurgy, agriculture and the textile industry. In 1810, together with Wilhelm Götz and Johann Arzberger, he founded the "SAG" company for the production of mechanical machines in Doubravice nad Svitavou. The bronze is in very good condition only his sword is not attached shown in the photos.
