Antique Capodimonte Porcelain Surtout-de-Table Centerpiece Figurines, circa 1890
About the Item
Amazing the 19th century porcelain centerpiece set featuring a bowl and seven dancing maiden figurines by Capodimonte. The bowl is fashioned in a column motif complete with swags and garlands. Would be perfect for flowers, candies, or fruits. Atop the bowl are two maidens in mid-dance, with their ribbons fluttering and robes rippling.
The five additional maiden figurines are also dancing, their dresses and robes billowing behind them. One is lifting a pair of doves, another is swinging a sash. One is carrying a rose garland while another plays her finger cymbals. One maiden is missing her instrument. Dove figurine is slightly whiter color than other.
All are marked on the bottom with a blue N and the five point crown for Capodimonte.
Generally very good antique condition, several original firing cracks in the bowl, chip to finger of one figurine. One figurine, as already mentioned, is whiter than others.
