A robust patinated silver bronze sculpture of a young girl in a full-length outfit with long skirt, bow at neck, and bag in hand. Her face finely carved from ivory. The female figure posed atop a sturdy marble pedestal signed by the artist Ferdinand Lugerth on reverse.
The sculptor Ferdinand Lugerth (1885-1915) embodied austrian Art Nouveau. Lugerth's finely crafted bronzes are highly sought after. His statuettes exemplified Art Nouveau's graceful organic forms and continental zeitgeist.
