About the Item
This playful and whimsical sculpture by renowned Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante depicts a boy riding a high bicycle, blending surrealism with the artist's celebrated individuality. Created circa 1989, the piece is part of a limited edition series, marked as 11/25, and is documented and signed by Bustamante, underscoring its authenticity and collectible value.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and emotion, the sculpture embodies Bustamante's unique artistic signature—combining fanciful themes with masterful forms. The high bicycle design exaggerates reality in a delightful way, inviting viewers to explore imagination and nostalgia while appreciating the artist's craftsmanship.
Featuring stunning usage of materials, this sculpture is rendered in beautifully achieved ceramic with hand-glazed and painted details that bring out the personality and vibrance of the figure. The framework of the bicycle is grand and rendered in a hand-painted enamel finish, vibrant pops of red and deep black contrast beautifully with the airy pastel hues of the figures clothing and skin. Signed by the artist and comes with the original certificate of Authenticity.
This distinctive work is a prime example of Bustamante's contribution to Mexican contemporary art and would make an extraordinary addition to any curated collection. In Excellent Vintage Condition.

Hand-Sculpted French Cubist Abstract Sculpture in Terracotta Signed "Philip"
Located in New York, NY
This sophisticated and alluring Mid-Century Modern Sculpture was realized in France circa 1950. Executed in terra cotta with a oil rubbed bronze colored glaze, the work presents an abstract and dynamic form- bristling with verve. An elongated form rises from an elliptical base offering both smooth and curvilinear aspects as well as faceted ones concluding in a curved tongue-like appendage with a pointed end. Additionally, there is what appears to be a lug or nut cantilevering from side of the piece, suggesting metamorphosis or some kind of animatronic influence. The amorphic form recalls the highly stylized renderings of tools by Lee Lozano...

Mid Century Modernist Car Sculpture in Brass on Marble Base by Aharon Bezalel
By Aharon Bezalel
Located in New York, NY
This unique and beautifully formed Modernist Car Sculpture in Brass on Marble Base is by the artist Aharon Bezalel, originating from Israel created in 1977. The sculpture is composed of multiple interlocking components, each serving as an individual point of intrigue while supporting one another as a finished sculpture. The body of the abstracted automobile appears skeletal and organic, curving dynamically, each component beautifully proportioned to house figures seated at various points both within interior and exterior spaces along the sculpture. Six figures total, the largest sitting up front with one leg extending, nearly scraping along the marble base as though to slow down this surreal vehicle, the other pulled closer to the body. Two additional figures sit behind, knees pulled close to chest, with three even smaller figures huddled together, concealed from the elements by the top sculptural component. The figures inside are visible from a variety of angles through cleverly planned openings that serve as the vehicle's windows. Signed on the rear of the sculpture, AB 77, edition 12/25 and resting on a rectangular white marble base. This brilliant piece will style beautifully in a wide array of interiors and settings, and is sure to draw the eye of sophisticated collectors appreciating the best of the 20th Century...
