About the Item

A rare and sculptural art glass bottle by renowned Swedish designer Erik Höglund, created for Boda Glasbruk in the 1950s. This handmade piece features a distinctive figural stopper with a pressed face motif—an iconic and highly collectible element of Höglund’s body of work. The bottle’s rounded form, accentuated by stylized side “arms,” gives it a whimsical, anthropomorphic character. Executed in richly textured hand-blown glass, the piece showcases Höglund’s signature use of organic air bubbles and subtle asymmetry, lending it a raw and tactile presence. The expressive relief on the stopper introduces a folkloric, almost primitive quality that reflects Höglund’s unique artistic vision. Etched with the signature H326 on the base, marking it as an authentic studio piece from his most celebrated period at Boda.
