German Bronze Figure of a Miner, Early Moderne Look, ca 1915
About the Item
This bronze figure of a miner with his tools is not your standard fare. Check out that masculine, almost square face. It has that look of a WPA worker, only this bronze is much earlier than that. We deal in bronzes and search out images such as this, but rarely do they turn up. We know it is German. The look, dark patina and black marble are very strong indicators of that. While not signed, for whatever reason, we guarantee it is German, and 1st quarter 20th century. We have had just a few other with this look and they were done before 1925.
This has that moderne look that is highly sought after by many. It is ahead of its time.
