About the Item

Beautiful and large bronze sculpture with brown and gold patina, signed Charles B., featuring a black sandblasted marble base and depicting Cupid with outstretched wings. The god of Love in Roman mythology, Cupid is depicted as a child with a youthful face and curly hair, a pair of wings reminiscent of the figure of an angel on his back. He carries his quiver filled with arrows at his waist and his bow in his left hand, instruments meant to illustrate the points of desire he plants in the hearts of men. His wings, veils, bow, quiver, and arrows are gilded, accentuating his charms and generally enhancing the bronze.
