About the Item

This is a wooden Buddha statue made during the Edo period in Japan. The material is cypress wood. After that, it is painted white, then covered with black lacquer, and then painted on top. Currently, there is no coloring, and the condition is like this. He is also missing his left hand. Although she is small in size, her body balance and facial expressions are very beautiful. This is Kannon Bodhisattva. Kannon Bodhisattva is the name of a Bodhisattva especially revered in Buddhism. He is the next most precious being after the Tathagata.
