About the Item

A fabulous and amusing life size soft sculpture of a sporty man dressed as a golfer, realistically portrayed with original garb. The golfer wears all authentic clothing, Arnold Palmer size 46 XL sweater, terry cloth cap, shirt, tie, yellow cuffed golf pants with embroidered clubs and vintage Dunlop wing tipped oxford white leather shoes. The face created with nylon stocking is lightly painted to convey skin tone animated with subtle wrinkles and creases. In the style of Lisa Lichtenfels figurative sculpture depicting realism in fabric. Duane Hanson like in the persuasive rendition of another human being. The man can be slightly repositioned and adjusted to sit in a chair, recline .... The chair is just for photograph purposes and does not come with the sculpture. He does although come with his golf club. This sculpture can be stuffed in a box for shipping anywhere.

In 1927, he received a prestigious medal of honor for his exceptional work. A close companion of Max Le Verrier, Pierre collaborated extensively with the Le Verrier foundry, which produced numerous pieces of his art. In addition to his given name, he also employed two pseudonyms, Fayral and Guerbe, which were derived from the surnames of his mother and wife respectively. As a leading sculptor, Pierre's creations earned consistent praise for their exceptional craftsmanship and meticulous attention to anatomical precision. His artistic endeavors extended beyond sculpture, as he also designed pieces for Goldscheider in Paris, working under the label "La Stele." Pierre's versatility encompassed various mediums, including ivory, bronze, spelter, stone, wood, alabaster, and ceramics. French late 19th century spelter sculpture by Hippolyte Moreau fitted with original 1 7/8" thick rouge griotte marble base. Hippolyte was one of the famous Moreau brothers, all of whom were sculptors. He was born in Dijon France in 1832 and died in 1927. This statue, in a warm chocolate brown patina depicts a diaphanously dressed woman with flowing scarf overhead and winged cherob at her side resting on the crest of a wave and shell.
