We deal in sculpture, mainly bronzes, and the vast majority of them are 1930's or earlier, but this was too good to pass. We also rarely buy trophies, but trophies are rarely this good. If you just peel off the presentation plaque, you have a wonderful piece of sculpture. The trophy does have a history, and for all those baby boomers, and the like, you should remember the famous couple who danced their way into our lives, Arthur and Katherine Murray. This award was for 1st prize and was presented in 1958 to Frank Frates. The trophy itself feels so good to the touch, and it has weight. It does really resemble the Oscar in it's gold color and size. The bottom line here is that this is a well modeled piece of sculpture and it has a fun historical background.
