An outstanding pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu statues. Each statue is raised by an elegant mottled base with fine rounded borders. The beautiful maidens above are each are dressed in wonderfully executed period garments draped over their bodies and tied at their shoulders. One maiden is extending a folded ribbon and wears a beautiful necklace while the other is holding an urn with a snake wrapped around her arm and wears a most elegant headpiece.
