About the Item

A fine antique Georgian English Prattware pottery cradle containing a sleeping child dating from around 1800. The cradle sits raised on two rockers and modelled as a basket with a hood over one end. The child lies within the cradle asleep. The depiction is nicely potted with good detail and is hand painted with a green glaze applied over a zig zag pattern to the body and in typical palette to the child and covers. The piece is not marked. In good overall condition with a couple of minor glaze chips to the hood and some light glaze rubbing and firing fault to one edge.
