About the Item
Seresier Louis-Juste ( Haitian / Croix des Bouquets, b. 1952 ) recycled sculpted cut steel standing sculpture of a Loa / Lwa ( a spirit god in the voodoo religion of Haiti ) and birds. Beautifully aged surface color patina w/ some areas of oxidation and rust. Artist inscribed at bottom. Circa 1970-1980. The Louis-Juste brothers - Seresier, Janvier and Joseph were born in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti. They learned this art form from the originator of Haitian metals, George Liautaud and were instrumental in passing it on to the next generation of Croix-des-Bouquets metal artists. Measures 17 1/2" high x 12" w x 1" deep at bottom base. This is a great one. Look at all pictures and read condition report in comment section.
