Two Pumpkin Sculptures by Napoleone Martinuzzi circa 1928 for V.S.M. Venini & Co., blown glass applied with pasta glass with gold foil applications Individual heights; 4 1/2 in ( 11.5 cm ); diameter 5 in ( 13 cm ); height 5 in ( 12.5 cm ); diameter 5 1/4in ( 14 cm ) Murano decent master glass maker studied sculpture at the Fine Arts Academy in Venice and Rome. Entering into a partnership years later with Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Venini & C. founded in 1925 with Martinuzzi as partner and art director. His unique style was due in part to his experience as a sculptor. Martinuzzi was greeted with considerable acclaim from public and critics alike, and took part in as many as thirteen editions of the Venice Biennale (1920-1950), the Monza Triennale (1930), and the Milan Triennale (1933). These pieces were exibited in the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, 2003-2015 Literature Marino Barovier, 'Napoleone Martinuzzi, Venini 1925-1931', Milan, 2013, p. 178 where related designs are illustrated.
