A Very Good 20th C. Bronze Head of Zeus After the Antique, Likely Continental

About the Item

The finely sculpted & patinated bronze head of Zeus, demonstrating excellent proportions & skillfully rendered features, with pierced eyes & hair adorned with a Kotinos, which was a wreath fashioned from a stripped olive branch worn by victorious athletes in the Olympic games. Overall dimensions, 14.5" high x 7" wide x 6.75" deep. The head measuring 9.5" high. Overall weight, 9.75 lbs.

Wear consistent with age and use. In very good condition and exhibiting a fine verdigris patina overall. Mounted on an ebonized later plinth base. Originally thought to be an earlier casting, I would prefer to be cautious, rather than possibly risk misrepresenting it's age.
