About the Item

Vibrant, sleek and full of character, this vintage pedal plane was once the prized possession of children all across America. A popular toy since the late 19th century, pedal cars and other vehicles experienced a massive boom in the postwar era, becoming a staple product in the Sears catalog and in toy stores nationwide. This 1970s pedal airplane is crafted of steel with smooth contours and a bright white enamel finish, decorated with charming detail and a functional front propeller. Deaccessioned from the MacLean Collection of Asian Art.
