About the Item

Sculptural 18th century Italian candlestick mounted on chalcopyrite and adorned with baroque pearls. This fragment was originally part of a candlestick from a historical church in Italy. It is distressed from time but still has the original gold leaf on aspects of the piece which coordinates with the chalcopyrite and baroque pearls. The fragment artifact has been preserved and transformed by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects and period shows that the Italian candlestick is originally 18th century. Together, the elements create a contemporary, yet historically significant sculptural work of organic and old.
