About the Item

A pair of reclaimed clay encaustic tiles by Maw & Co, Benthall Works, Brosley, perfect for a decorative display in a period cottage or townhouse. At 6-inch in size, this pair display an eye catching scrolling floral pattern in a vibrant yellow on a moody black background. Dating from the mid 19th century, these reclaimed tiles have been in use for over 160 years and as such have a characterful, timeworn look with scuffs and crazing that only enhances the beauty of these striking patterned tiles. Stamped to the reverse. We have 2 other pairs in the same design. Please enquire for more details.
