Paravent by Paolo Venini for Venini Vetrate Tessuto, 1957

About

Beautiful glass paravent by Paolo Venini. In the 1950s Venini designed several objects under the use of art glass as room dividers, windows or wall covers. This exceptional glass item was presented by Venini at the XI Triennale di Milano in 1957. He usually crafted on order of architects, as it was the case with this object: This paravent was originally a window of the general motors-solidarity house in Detroit, designed by its architect Oskar Storonov. After the building's renovation, the window was removed from the building and its new owner, maybe Venini himself, redesigned it as a paravent. Provenance: Archive Venini.
