A unique mid 19th century encaustic tile by W Godwin, Lugwardine (stamped) depicting a stylised dove. The dove is captured in an unusual illustration with a neutral buff tone on a deep red ground. After more than 160 years, this 6-inch tile is to be admired for its crisp colours and beautiful definition. It includes a bespoke steel stand as pictured, making it a stunning decorative piece for a collector’s cabinet.
