Deconstructed Lobster (Homarus Gammarus) Specimen Under Glass Dome

About the Item

Deconstructed Lobster (Homarus Gammarus) Specimen Under Glass Dome. The European lobster, scientifically referred to as Homarus gammarus or commonly known as the common lobster, is a clawed lobster species found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, and certain areas of the Black Sea. It shares a close genetic relationship with the American lobster, scientifically known as H. americanus. The deconstruction technique invented by anatomist Edmé François Chauvot de Beachêne in France in the 19th century involves the meticulous disassembly of all the components of a skull or crustacea. In this case, the pieces are re-articulated and positioned in an exploded array on a copper wire support. This is the same technique as the anatomical drawings of Leonardo da Vinci. Measures: 15" x 28" H
