From the DRC – one of only two locations worldwide where this rare and coveted emerald-green to blue-green crystal can be sourced, the other being Namibia – this natural vug, or pocket, is densely lined with richly pigmented, fully formed Dioptase crystals. The crystals exhibit outstanding luster and transparency and grow over a Goethite base with a delicate scattering of Plancheite microcrystals lending a hint of druzy shimmer. The balance of color and texture in this piece makes it a textbook specimen for the discriminating collector, offering both aesthetic and mineralogical intrigue. A brilliant display specimen to enrich and dazzle in any collection.
