Flame-Shaped Calcite on Amethyst Crystal Mineral Specimen- Artigas, Uruguay

About the Item

This is a stunning specimen featuring two commonly known species (amethyst and calcite) that have culminated in a wholly unbelievable and unusual composition. Deep, grape-jelly purple amethyst crystals have clustered together to create a lustrous stem that has been crowned with an elongated, golden crystal of calcite. The juxtaposition of these two minerals creates a contrast of color and texture, as well as an interpretive and attractive form. Often referred to as “The Lit Match” or “The Torch,” this sculptural and alluring example is an unexpected and highly aesthetic example of its kind. This example has a 360-degree viewing capability that makes it easy to place in any space. Comes with a custom mount. Reference: #00513.
